Life Sentence Imposed for Aggravated Murder and Robbery
The Nof HaGalil District Court sentenced a man to life in prison for the aggravated murder and robbery of a 76-year-old resident nearly three years ago.
The Nof HaGalil District Court sentenced Muhammad Sabih, a resident of Kafr Misr, to life imprisonment for the aggravated murder of 76-year-old Abdullah Saadi from Muqeiblea nearly three years ago. The court also ordered the defendant to pay 258,000 shekels in compensation to the victim's family.
According to the verdict, Sabih and another accomplice, whose trial is still ongoing, broke into Saadi's home late at night. They bound the elderly man with adhesive tape wrapped around his head, blocking his airways while searching for a safe. The perpetrators stole money and jewelry during the 50 minutes they spent at the scene before fleeing and leaving the victim tied up, leading to his death by suffocation.
A third accomplice, Yaacoub (Samir) Zoubi, also from Kafr Misr, was convicted of planning the robbery and sentenced to four and a half years in prison. Zoubi did not participate in the actual break-in but had prior acquaintance with the victim, having visited his home the day before the murder.
