Special Transport Services to the Cave of the Patriarchs for Sukkot

Electra Afikim, the Ministry of Transport, and the National Public Transportation Authority have announced the operation of a special public transportation service to the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron for the upcoming intermediate days of Sukkot (Chol HaMoed).

The Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron is considered one of the most sacred and visited sites in the region, drawing numerous visitors and worshippers during the holiday season. According to Jewish tradition, the site is the burial place of the patriarchs and matriarchs. During specific days of the year, areas of the complex normally restricted are opened to Jewish worshippers.

Schedule and Operational Details

The special service will operate on Monday and Tuesday, September 28 and 29, 2026. Bus line 201 will depart from the Teddy West parking lot in Jerusalem, near gates 8 and 9, traveling directly to the Cave of the Patriarchs.

Buses from Jerusalem to Hebron will operate between 09:30 and 16:00, while return services from the Cave of the Patriarchs to the Teddy parking lot will run from 11:00 to 21:00.

Fares will be set at 29 shekels for a round-trip ticket, with standard statutory discounts applied for eligible passengers. Authorities emphasize that Rav-Kav transit cards must be loaded in advance, as on-site charging will not be available.

Parking and Alternative Routes

Visitors traveling to the Teddy parking lot via public transport can utilize the L3 light rail line from Binyanei HaUma, as well as urban bus lines 504, 509, and 531. During the operating hours of line 201, regular lines 381 and 383 will be suspended.

For those arriving by private vehicle, designated parking facilities will be available in Kiryat Arba, offering shuttle services directly to the site.
