Case Awaits Attorney General: What is Delaying the Indictment Against Yolanda Yavor?

A significant development has emerged in the case concerning the statements of protest activist Dr. Yolanda Yavor. The Likud movement, through its representative, Adv. Ilan Bombach of the Ilan Bombach & Co. law firm, has sent an urgent warning letter to the Haifa District Attorney's Office, demanding a final and reasoned decision regarding Yavor without further delay.
The background to these events lies in a series of publications distributed by Dr. Yolanda Yavor in recent months, which included various calls on social media and direct references toward Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Following these posts, a criminal investigation was opened against her on suspicion of incitement. Around December 2025, the Israel Police submitted an official prosecutor's statement to the Haifa Magistrate's Court to prepare an indictment and a request for detention until the end of proceedings. Yavor was subsequently released to house arrest under various restrictive conditions, including a sweeping ban on the use of mobile phones and social media.
In its appeal, the Likud movement claims that many months have passed since Yavor's release without a final decision from the prosecution, as the case remains pending approval from the Attorney General. According to the movement's representative, this prolonged delay exceeds the bounds of reasonableness and contradicts the principles of proper administration.
"The ongoing state of uncertainty harms the broad public interest and raises concerns regarding selective enforcement in incitement offenses against public officials," the letter states.
The letter concludes with a clear ultimatum: the Haifa District Attorney's Office must provide an explicit, final, and reasoned notice within 14 days regarding its intent to file an indictment and the reasons for the long delay. It was further clarified that if no substantive response is received by the deadline, the Likud movement will consider filing a petition to the Supreme Court.
