Jerusalem will host an international education conference next month, bringing together educators, researchers, entrepreneurs, and policymakers from Israel and around the world. Scheduled for November 9 and 10 at the International Convention Center (Binyanei HaUma), the event will be free and open to the public, with the Jerusalem Municipality investing millions of shekels in its production.

Key Topics and International Speakers

The conference is expected to draw thousands of participants from dozens of countries, including education ministers, academics, entrepreneurs, youth, and wounded IDF soldiers. Key panels will focus on the impact of artificial intelligence in the classroom, the role of algorithms in child education, the ongoing crisis in the teaching profession, and issues of identity and pluralism.

Among the keynote speakers are media entrepreneur and content creator Nas Daily, Harvard Graduate School of Education lecturer Noah Heller, who specializes in the future of teaching and pedagogy, and Israeli billionaire entrepreneur Alon Gonen, co-founder of Plus500.

The Future of Teaching and AI

A central theme of the conference will be the status of educators, against the backdrop of professional burnout and ongoing discussions regarding compensation and working conditions. Yaffa Ben David, deputy secretary-general of the Israel Teachers Union, is scheduled to participate in a special session addressing ways to restore prestige to the profession.

The conference will also tackle the challenges posed by artificial intelligence and how to prepare the younger generation for a rapidly changing technological, social, and security landscape. Jerusalem, featuring diverse educational streams including state, state-religious, ultra-Orthodox, and Arab networks, presents a unique backdrop for discussing curriculum gaps and workforce integration.

Jerusalem's Educational Vision

Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion stated that the city's educational system is a source of great pride, emphasizing the municipality's commitment to driving renewal, excellence, and equal opportunities.

"The conference reflects Jerusalem's status as a city that promotes open educational discourse and connects values, culture, identity, and innovation," Lion said, expressing hope that the event will become an annual tradition fostering international cooperation and mutual learning.
