The "Last Picture" exhibition opens today, showcasing the final photographs of "Iron Swords" heroes and sharing their personal stories.

Marking three years since the October 7 disaster, the commemoration moves from the digital sphere into the public space. The exhibition will be displayed at the Yehudit light rail station in Tel Aviv, honoring 22 IDF soldiers who fell since October 7.

The "Last Picture" Project

The exhibition is based on the "Last Picture" initiative, named after the late Sgt. Amit Regev—a large-scale digital commemoration project by the "Israel Hayom" group and the "OneFamily" association.

The project was established on the last Memorial Day, featuring hundreds of fallen soldiers and reaching over 10 million views and shares in Israel and abroad. Concurrently, additional stories of "Iron Swords" heroes will appear on yes screens, the Pazam soldiers' page, and across the Scouts movement nationwide, a movement that lost 132 alumni since October 7.

"The longing does not weaken with time. It only grows stronger. And in every good thing that happens, there is always the feeling that something is missing, because every good thing simply feels incomplete without him," says Michael, brother of the late Staff Sgt. Daniel Ben Harosh.

Commemorating Fallen Heroes

The exhibition highlights soldiers like Staff Sgt. Daniel Ben Harosh of the 6551st Reconnaissance Battalion, who fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip in December 2023. It also honors Cpl. Shirat Yam Amar, a female observer at the Nahal Oz outpost who fell on October 7 defending her comrades, and Staff Sgt. Roy Weiser, a Golani soldier who fell defending the Erez outpost on October 7.
