Border Police officers arrested an 18-year-old motorcyclist in Kafr Yasif who attempted to flee an enforcement stop while carrying his seven-year-old cousin without a helmet.

During a targeted traffic enforcement operation in Kafr Yasif, Coast Guard motorcycle units noticed a scooter carrying a passenger, with neither wearing helmets. When officers signaled the rider to pull over, the suspect ignored the instructions and sped off through the village streets.

Throughout the pursuit, the driver operated recklessly, endangering his own life, the life of the young child riding behind him, and other road users by driving against traffic. Border Police motorcyclists immediately initiated a focused chase. Realizing the officers were closing in, the suspect abandoned the scooter and attempted to flee on foot toward a nearby house, where officers caught and arrested him.

Upon questioning, it was revealed that the rider was an 18-year-old youth, and the passenger with no protective gear was his seven-year-old cousin. The suspect was transferred for police questioning and faces severe fines and traffic penalty points for his dangerous offenses.
