Michal and Tal held their wedding at Shaare Zedek Medical Center so that Michal's mother, Hanna, who is hospitalized in the surgical intensive care unit, could attend. Due to her medical condition requiring continuous high-flow oxygen, the couple decided to move their wedding up by a year and celebrate it right by her side.
To transport Hanna from the ward without interrupting her treatment, the teams at Shaare Zedek adapted a specialized device unique to their medical center. The equipment provides high-flow oxygen, maintains saturation levels, and operates on a dedicated long-lasting battery.
The event was coordinated by the Department of Religious Services, the Respiratory Therapy Unit, and the medical and nursing staff of the surgical intensive care unit. Hanna was accompanied by the respiratory therapy team, led by Michal Shitrit, allowing her to leave the ward for the ceremony.
The wedding took place in the surgical department's family area. Dozens of relatives and friends arrived at the medical center to embrace the couple, share in the emotional moment, and wish Hanna a speedy recovery.
