As Israelis prepare to enjoy an upcoming election day off, nature reserves and parks across the country are offering special activities and family-friendly trails. From the lush landscapes of the Galilee and the rolling hills of the Judean Shephelah to the expansive vistas of the Negev, authorities have highlighted nine recommended destinations for hikers and families.
Weather Warnings and Safety
The Israel Meteorological Service has issued warnings for potential flash floods in the streams of the southern Negev, the Arava, the Dead Sea, and the Judean Desert. Authorities have imposed a strict ban on entering stream channels on foot or by vehicle until water levels completely recede. Visitors are advised to contact the Nature and Parks Authority hotline for route updates.
