He was there by her side despite his condition: Bruce Willis in a rare photo from his daughter's wedding
The 71-year-old actor attended the wedding of his youngest daughter, Tallulah, and was captured in a photo with a smile on his face. Willis, who retired from Hollywood about four years ago, continues to battle dementia.
Bruce Willis arrived at the wedding of his youngest daughter, Tallulah Willis, which took place this past weekend. In a black-and-white photo published on Friday on the Instagram page of Vogue magazine, the 71-year-old actor, who was diagnosed in 2023 with frontotemporal dementia, is seen hugging Tallulah while her new husband, Justin Acee, shakes his hand. Willis wore a short-sleeved button-down shirt, light-colored pants, and a hat for the ceremony, which was held in the spacious yard of the family home in Hailey, Idaho.
"Justin and I have spent so much time there, that even if the place has a strong emotional power for me, it feels like part of its fabric," the actor's daughter told the magazine. Tallulah, who wore a custom-made strapless dress by Balenciaga designed by the brand's creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, said after the wedding that she was overwhelmed with gratitude and joy to start the next chapter, adding: "The wedding was beyond my wildest dreams."
Her older sisters, Rumer and Scout, served as bridesmaids and also wore Balenciaga. Her mother, Demi Moore, the actor's ex-wife, was also by their side. Willis retired from the acting world after being diagnosed with aphasia, and the following year his family announced that his condition had progressed to frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Last August, it was reported that he moved to a separate house, right down the street from his main home with his wife, Emma Heming Willis, where he receives round-the-clock care.
Heming previously shared on the podcast 'Conversations With Cam' that she visits him all the time, and that she and the girls dine with him several times a week. "This house supports every need of Bruce, 24/7, and it works so well for us," she said. In June, on the podcast 'The Bossticks', she admitted that she is constantly grieving over her husband's struggle with dementia.
Tallulah herself previously wrote about her father's condition in an article for Vogue in 2023:
"I am constantly skipping between the present and the past when I talk about him: he is here, he was, he is here, he was. That is because I have hopes for my father that I so do not want to let go of."
