Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez Face Tense Courtroom Custody Battle
Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez face a bitter custody battle as their 13-year-old son Maceo testifies in court regarding domestic allegations.

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez faced a tense courtroom showdown as their 13-year-old son, Maceo, testified for nearly four hours in a bitter custody battle. The high-profile Hollywood couple, whose divorce was finalized in August 2023, are locked in a fierce legal dispute following restraining order requests and allegations of domestic conflict.
Courtroom Drama and Closed-Door Testimony
The hearing took place at a Los Angeles court, presided over by Judge Shelley Kaufman. According to reports from Page Six, Martinez arrived with their son and cast an angry glare toward Berry, who was accompanied by her legal team and her fiancé, Van Hunt. The atmosphere inside the courtroom was described as thoroughly freezing.
To protect the minor's privacy, Judge Kaufman ordered all attendees to exit the courtroom while Maceo took the stand. The teenager spent roughly four hours testifying behind closed doors regarding an alleged incident involving a dispute over virtual reality goggles.
Custody Battle and Competing Claims
Martinez, 60, filed for a temporary restraining order earlier in the month, alleging that Berry physically attacked and choked their son following an argument. The French actor is currently seeking sole custody of Maceo, prompting the judge to temporarily restrict Berry's visitation rights.
"I was completely shocked by these allegations, and I have never witnessed my mother physically harm or attack my half-brother," stated 18-year-old Nahla Aubry, Berry's daughter, in a filed court declaration supporting her mother.
Berry has vehemently denied all accusations, asking the court to dismiss the restraining order, lift the temporary restrictions, and restore equal shared custody. The ongoing legal battle highlights the enduring complexities of celebrity co-parenting years after separation.
