"There will be no Hamas institution in Jerusalem": Hearing for incitement school

The Ministry of Education began on Tuesday a process to revoke the license and block the funding of the "Nur al-Huda" school in Shuafat, after checks conducted at the institution revealed ties between individuals associated with it and organizations identified with Hamas. Among the findings: a connection to the "Lajnat Zakat al-Quds" association, previously defined as linked to Hamas in Jerusalem, as well as the involvement of the organization Human Appeal, declared in Israel as a prohibited Hamas association.

In addition, the Ministry of Education pointed to deficiencies in the institution's conduct, including the use of unapproved textbooks and the employment of teaching staff without the required permits. The procedure follows an investigation by "HaKol HaYehudi" and a campaign led by the Chairman of the Education Committee, MK Zvi Sukkot, who visited the school and demanded that the Ministry of Education and security agencies investigate the ties and the budgets transferred to it.

MK Zvi Sukkot welcomed the move and stated:

"I said that we would not allow the State of Israel to fund Hamas institutions — and I promised that we would act to the end. Today we see the result."

According to him, there will be no Hamas school in Jerusalem. "We will continue to check, expose, and act until every institution connected to terrorist elements is dealt with according to the law. There is no extraterritoriality in the State of Israel, and certainly not in the heart of Jerusalem."
