British Influencer Igo Obiribo Dies After Cosmetic Procedure in Thailand
British influencer Igo Obiribo died at 43 from a pulmonary embolism after a cosmetic procedure in Bangkok. A London court confirmed that hyaluronic acid entered his bloodstream during the injection.

British-Nigerian influencer and businessman Igo "Tiny" Obiribo has passed away at the age of 43 following a cosmetic procedure to enlarge his penis during a vacation in Thailand. An inquest into his death, which concluded this week at a London court, definitively ruled that Obiribo died of a fatal pulmonary embolism—a direct result of hyaluronic acid entering his bloodstream during the treatment.
The Fatal Incident in Bangkok
The incident occurred on March 5 at a clinic in Bangkok, where Obiribo was injected with 40 ml of hyaluronic acid combined with lidocaine. Shortly afterward, while undergoing a massage session with his wife, fashion designer Danielle Simba Allen, he began complaining of severe chest pains and lost consciousness.
He was rushed to Sukhumvit Hospital, but his condition deteriorated rapidly before the medical staff could perform diagnostic scans. Doctors fought for his life, performing CPR for over 100 minutes, but were forced to pronounce him dead the following morning. A post-mortem examination conducted in the United Kingdom confirmed that deposits of the injected material had blocked the blood vessels in his lungs.
The Hidden Dangers of Aesthetic Procedures
This tragedy highlights the silent dangers associated with such aesthetic procedures. Experts warn that despite their high cost and short-lived effects (lasting only six to nine months), penile injections carry severe risks—ranging from infections, scarring, and erectile dysfunction to fatal embolisms if the substance enters the bloodstream.
This case follows another high-profile incident last year in Paris, where surgeons were prosecuted following the death of a billionaire during a similar procedure.
Obiribo, who was known to his 185,000 social media followers for his lavish lifestyle and luxury properties in Los Angeles and London, was laid to rest in the UK in a golden casket, surrounded by his wife and close friends. His sudden death stands as a stark warning about the risks of elective cosmetic interventions.
