IDF Veteran Develops Browser-Based Gaza-Inspired Shooter Using AI Agents
An IDF veteran and computer science student independently developed a browser-based shooter game inspired by Gaza operations using AI coding agents, signaling potential shifts in the local gaming industry.

A former IDF combat soldier and computer science student has independently developed a browser-based first-person shooter game inspired by ongoing military operations in Gaza. Named "Absolute Victory", the project demonstrates the potential of AI-assisted software development, allowing a single creator to accomplish tasks previously requiring an entire studio.
AI-Driven Development and Gameplay
Shahar Rosenfeld, currently a data operator at Monto and a fourth-year computer science student, built the entire game within approximately a week and a half. Utilizing Claude Code with the Opus 5.5 model and multiple concurrent AI agents, Rosenfeld managed the programming workflow while employing external tools for voice generation and graphical assets. Voice lines were created using ElevenLabs, whereas 3D models, animations, and textures were sourced from Sketchfab and Poly Haven.
The browser-based game features seven missions depicting scenarios such as tunnel navigation, compound clearing, rescuing hostages, and evacuating families under fire. While acknowledging the game's basic graphics and straightforward mechanics, Rosenfeld emphasized the technological milestone of executing a 3D browser game built almost entirely through autonomous agent workflows.
Sensitivity and Industry Impact
Recognizing the sensitive nature of the subject matter, Rosenfeld integrated strict safety measures prior to launching the title. Players are greeted with a content warning regarding potential post-traumatic stress triggers, alongside direct helpline references for psychological support organizations such as Eran and Natal.
Industry observers note that Israeli game development has historically concentrated on casual titles and social casino apps. However, projects like "Absolute Victory" suggest that AI coding revolutions may lower entry barriers, enabling independent developers to reshape the local gaming landscape.
