IDF Reserve Tracker Arrested in Gaza Strip with 10 Kg of Captagon
An IDF reserve tracker from Tel Sheva was arrested in the Gaza Strip with 10 kg of Captagon intended for smuggling, in a joint operation by police, the IDF, and Shin Bet.

An active reserve tracker in his 30s and a resident of Tel Sheva has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to smuggle 10 kilograms of Captagon into the Gaza Strip using an IDF patrol vehicle. The arrest was carried out as part of a joint operation by the Southern District Police's Negev YAMAR unit, the IDF, and the Shin Bet targeting drug smuggling networks.
According to the investigation, the suspect was intercepted while carrying a bag containing the suspected narcotics inside a military vehicle in the Gaza Strip. Following his arrest, he was transferred for further interrogation. Police requested a court extension to keep him in custody until Thursday as the investigation continues.
The IDF confirmed it is familiar with the details of the case, which is currently being handled by the police. This incident follows a similar case from February, when soldiers from the Bedouin Desert Reconnaissance Battalion were suspected of smuggling drugs and cigarettes into Gaza through the Kerem Shalom crossing, prompting the military to redeploy the unit to the Kissufim sector.
