Israeli Security Forces Launch Major Counter-Terrorism Operation in Nablus
Israeli security forces launched a large-scale counter-terrorism operation in the Nablus area targeting wanted suspects and militant monuments, amid broader security tensions.

Security forces launched a large-scale counter-terrorism operation in the Nablus area early Tuesday morning, running concurrently with ongoing military actions in Hebron. According to the IDF, the operation involves troops from the Israel Defense Forces, the Border Police, and the Shin Bet internal security agency.
Military authorities stated that the multi-day sweep targets terror infrastructure, including the arrest of wanted suspects, intelligence-based building searches for hidden weapons, and the demolition of monuments glorifying terrorists. Palestinian reports indicated that troops have already destroyed 10 such memorials in nearby villages such as Rujeib, Azmut, Madama, Iraq Burin, and Beit Furik.
Unlike recent measures in Hebron following a deadly shooting attack that claimed the lives of Staff Sergeant Ron Yonatan Roitman and Sergeant Yuval Shay Sullam, officials confirmed that the current Nablus operation does not involve civilian evacuations. Meanwhile, security commentators reported that a disagreement between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir regarding the scope of operations in Hebron underscores broader tensions between political and military leadership.
