The Israel Defense Forces announced that two Hamas Nukhba terrorists were eliminated in airstrikes carried out on Saturday across two locations in the Gaza Strip. One of the operatives, Muhammad Kamel Maslah Qadih, took part in the raid on Kibbutz Nir Oz during the October 7, 2023 massacres. The second operative, Diaa Abd al-Muhsin Muhammad Abu al-Rus, belonged to the Hamas military wing and was killed in the central Gaza area of Nuseirat.

According to the IDF, Qadih was targeted in an airstrike in the southern Gaza area of Khan Younis. In addition to his role in the Nir Oz assault, he was responsible for overseeing the operational readiness of Nukhba force members. Meanwhile, Abu al-Rus was eliminated in a simultaneous strike in Nuseirat as part of ongoing operations targeting active militants.

The military noted that throughout the conflict, and particularly in recent weeks, both individuals were actively engaged in advancing terror plots against security forces and Israeli civilians, alongside efforts to rebuild Hamas military capabilities. The army stated that their activities constituted a systematic violation of the ceasefire agreement, prompting the targeted strikes to remove the immediate threat.

This latest targeted elimination follows a series of recent IDF strikes in the Gaza Strip amid Israeli assertions that Hamas is seeking to restore its military infrastructure and breach the terms of the ceasefire. Concurrently, mutual accusations persist between the parties regarding responsibility for violations of the truce agreement.

Last week, the IDF and the Shin Bet announced that they had targeted two weapons storage facilities belonging to the Hamas military wing in the central Gaza area of Bureij and the northern Gaza City sector. According to military announcements, the facilities contained dozens of weapons, including rockets, explosive devices, RPG launchers, rifles, and grenades.
