Hezbollah TV Journalist Wounded Live on Air During Airstrike in Nabatiyeh
Hezbollah's Al-Manar TV correspondent Ali Shabib was wounded during a live broadcast in Nabatiyeh. Meanwhile, clashes erupted between Hezbollah and Amal movement members over weapons storage in Arabsalim.
Ali Shabib, a field correspondent for Hezbollah's Al-Manar TV network, was wounded on Sunday during an airstrike in Nabatiyeh, southern Lebanon, while reporting live from the scene. Footage released the following day captured the moment of the strike, showing Shabib speaking to the camera when a sudden explosion erupted in the background.
Shabib is one of Al-Manar's prominent field reporters in southern Lebanon, frequently broadcasting from Nabatiyeh and active combat zones. The Hezbollah-affiliated network serves as a primary platform for disseminating the group's messages and narrative to the Lebanese public and the wider Arab world.
During the wave of airstrikes in Nabatiyeh, both Shabib and his cameraman were injured. The two survived the attack and were evacuated to a local hospital, where Lebanese sources reported they sustained light injuries.
Escalation in Nabatiyeh and Internal Clashes
Lebanese media reported on Monday morning that 11 people were killed and five others were wounded in airstrikes targeting a building and a vehicle in Kfar Remen, alongside additional strikes in Nabatiyeh al-Fawqa and Arabsalim. Numerous residents fled their homes overnight following evacuation warnings and the intense wave of bombardments in the area.
Meanwhile, an internal dispute erupted in Arabsalim prior to one of the strikes. According to a report by the Al-Hadath channel, a violent confrontation broke out between Hezbollah operatives and members of the Amal Movement. The report claimed that Hezbollah was moving weapons from house to house within the village, prompting an Amal activist to open fire in protest. The house subsequently targeted in the airstrike was reportedly being used by Hezbollah to store the transferred munitions.
Demolition of Tunnel Networks
These developments coincide with intense military activity along the Ali al-Taher ridge, which has become a focal point of the conflict. The Lebanese MTV channel reported that more than 15 tunnels in the Nabatiyeh area were detonated simultaneously, spanning the sector from Yohmor al-Chaqif to Ali al-Taher. In Lebanon, there are growing concerns that this activity is not localized but rather signals a broader expansion of the security zone in the southern part of the country.
