Hapoel Tel Aviv Wins Toto Cup Derby and First Trophy Since 2014
Omri Altman celebrated Hapoel Tel Aviv's 3-2 Toto Cup derby win over Maccabi Tel Aviv, securing the club's first trophy since 2014. The team now prepares to host Maccabi Haifa.

Hapoel Tel Aviv forward Omri Altman celebrated Thursday evening's Toto Cup victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv on the pitch and in the dressing room, securing the club's first major trophy since 2014 with a dramatic 3-2 derby win.
Speaking at the post-match press conference before the celebrations commenced, Altman immediately shifted focus to upcoming fixtures. "We will celebrate tonight, but quite quickly we must think about Maccabi Haifa," Altman stated. "It is no secret that because it is Maccabi Tel Aviv, it tastes much sweeter. Before this was a Toto Cup final, it was a derby."
Reflecting on the bounce-back from a previous 4-1 league defeat, Altman noted that the earlier match turned sour due to a red card, creating a false impression of a gap in quality. "We came to show it is not like that," he added, praising manager Elyaniv Barda as one of the finest coaches in his career for both tactical acumen and man-management.
Hapoel Tel Aviv will now host Maccabi Haifa on Monday at 20:30 as they look to maintain their winning momentum in the league.
