Hapoel Tel Aviv Faces Hapoel Jerusalem in Super League Blockbuster
Hapoel Tel Aviv hosts Hapoel Jerusalem in a marquee Israeli Basketball Super League clash at Drive In Arena, while Hapoel Afula welcomes Ironi Ness Ziona in Gan Ner.
The third round of the Israeli Basketball Super League continues on Sunday with standout fixtures, headlined by a high-stakes clash between Hapoel Tel Aviv and Hapoel Jerusalem at Drive In Arena, alongside a pivotal matchup in Gan Ner between Hapoel Afula and Ironi Ness Ziona.
Hapoel Tel Aviv vs. Hapoel Jerusalem
Hapoel Tel Aviv enters the marquee fixture riding a five-game winning streak across all competitions. Despite sluggish starts in recent outings against Maccabi Ashdod and Virtus Bologna, Dimitris Itoudis' side relied on stellar defense to secure victories. The coaching staff is weighing whether to activate their eighth and final foreign player spot to register Vasilije Micic. Hapoel Jerusalem arrives in buoyant mood following a commanding EuroCup performance against Rīga. Sasa Obradovic's squad is eager to make a statement after falling to Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Winner Cup semifinals, with all away tickets selling out in minutes.
Hapoel Afula vs. Ironi Ness Ziona
Hapoel Afula hosts Ironi Ness Ziona following a turbulent week that saw head coach Sharon Avrahami depart, with assistant Golan Yablonovsky stepping in on an interim basis. Afula secured a morale-boosting away win over Maccabi Rishon LeZion under Yablonovsky and will finally play their first home game at the Gan Ner Arena. Meanwhile, Ironi Ness Ziona is still searching for its first victory of the season. Despite significant roster investments, the team stumbled against Ashdod and suffered a double-overtime home loss to Bnei Herzliya, though management plans to stay the course while awaiting Adam Ariel's return from injury.
