Guy Lehrer asks for help online: "This thing needs to explode"

The host of "HaTzinor" revealed that the consumer project "Super HaTzinor" is already operating in 3 branches, but now he is facing an unexpected challenge – his primary media career. Lehrer turned to his followers for ideas on how to scale the project without compromising its non-profit mission.

Guy Lehrer, host of the program "HaTzinor" on Reshet 13, has turned to his online followers with an unusual request. In a post published today (Tuesday) on the X network, he asked the public to join him in brainstorming how to promote and expand the consumer project "Super HaTzinor."

"I am asking to recruit the excellent minds that are here to consult on a subject I stumbled upon by chance and which is too big for me: businesses of significant scale," wrote Lehrer.

He explained that consulting with the public is a move that has proven successful in the past. "Every time I felt stuck and consulted with an open heart, I felt it paid off. Why not try again?" he wrote.

According to Lehrer, the project reached a significant milestone after opening three branches. "We opened three branches of Super HaTzinor. Besides the fact that it is great fun, this is basically what we aimed for," he wrote.

Lehrer added that the activity is not limited to operating stores, but is intended to provide relief to families and influence prices in the areas where each branch operates. "It is a huge relief for thousands of families who buy regularly at each branch. It also brings about sweeping price reductions in the area. The format works," he stated.

Now, the question arises of how the model can be expanded beyond the three existing branches. "It is impossible to stop the strong gut feeling that this thing needs to explode all over the country and change the cost of living in the food industry, but for real," he wrote.

However, Lehrer has encountered what he defines as a "good problem" — his day job. "I really love my work and have no intention of giving it up," he clarified.

He believes the solution could come through a person or organization that would take the project forward on a national scale. "It feels to me that a big person or a big body should step in to take this forward. Obviously, I would not let in any party whose goal is net profit into a business whose true goal is to benefit the public. That will not happen," he emphasized.

Lehrer raised another possibility: "The closest thing I thought of is a thriving company or individual who wants, alongside their businesses, to make a significant change in Israeli society." However, he admits he is not sure if that is the right direction.

Lehrer ended the post with a direct appeal: "In short, I want your opinion."

As recalled, "Super HaTzinor" was born as part of the consumer activity of the program "HaTzinor" and later became a physical project. In June 2026, the third branch opened in Harish, following the success of branches in Be'er Sheva and Rishon LeZion.

The transition from the screen to the field is part of Lehrer's concept in recent years. In an interview at the "Israel Business" conference, he said that times when he felt media work was not enough to bring about change led him to act directly.

"Every time you feel that you are not succeeding in changing enough within the world of media, it itches me to do things physically," said Lehrer. According to him, this happened in the past through campaigns, demonstrations, and public calls that deviated from standard media activity. He described the project as "one of the most fun things I have done."
