Anthropic Targets $2 Trillion IPO Launch Ahead of US Midterm Elections
AI giant Anthropic plans to market its historic IPO in mid-October and complete its public listing just days before the US midterm elections on November 3. The developer of Claude is seeking a valuation of up to $2 trillion.

Artificial intelligence giant Anthropic, the developer of the Claude chatbot, is expected to begin marketing its massive initial public offering (IPO) in mid-October at the earliest. According to a Reuters report, the company aims to complete its public listing just days before the US midterm elections on November 3.
While the company was initially expected to publish its IPO prospectus next week, the filing has now been pushed back to late September. Sources note that these plans remain subject to change based on market conditions and regulatory reviews.
Credit Facility and Analyst Briefings
As part of the IPO process, Anthropic is working to finalize a $15 billion revolving credit facility. Following the completion of this credit line, financial analysts, including those from the underwriting banks, are scheduled to meet with the company.
Typically, companies leave several weeks between analyst meetings and the publication of an IPO prospectus. However, Anthropic is expected to operate on a tighter schedule due to its high profile and existing familiarity among major market players.
Unprecedented Valuation and Revenue Growth
In June, Anthropic filed a confidential draft prospectus for an IPO that could become the largest in history, targeting a valuation of $2 trillion.
This follows a funding round in May where the company raised $65 billion at a valuation of $965 billion.
In August, Anthropic updated investors on its explosive financial performance:
-
Second-quarter revenue reached $11.5 billion.
-
This represents a massive surge from $4.73 billion in the first quarter of this year and $787 million in the second quarter of 2025.
