The Maof union, the Amidar workers' committee, and the company's management have signed a new collective agreement covering approximately 400 employees of the state-owned public housing company. The agreement concludes a prolonged period of negotiations and introduces a series of changes to wages, pensions, and welfare conditions, alongside regulating a shorter workweek and improving compensation for field workers.

Financial Compensation and Wage Increases

One of the central components of the agreement is retroactive compensation for employees covering the years 2019 to 2025. This addresses wage components and benefits that the workers' union claimed were not fully paid over the years. The official announcement did not disclose the total financial scope of this retroactive compensation or the average amount each employee is set to receive.

Additionally, every full-time employee will receive a one-time signing bonus of 1,000 NIS. Base salaries will be increased through a fixed monthly addition of 125 NIS, alongside graduated percentage wage increases and updates to existing salary components.

Pension Contributions and Field Conditions

The agreement also includes improvements to meal allowances and increased contributions to pension and provident funds. Under this framework, pension contributions will be expanded to cover salary components that were previously excluded, a move expected to boost both current earnings and long-term retirement savings.

On the operational side, the parties agreed to fully implement a shorter workweek and enhance compensation for field staff. Furthermore, performance-based bonus mechanisms were established for the coming years, linking a portion of future employee compensation to company performance and the achievement of defined targets.

Amidar is Israel's national housing company, playing a key role in managing public housing and providing services to tens of thousands of eligible families nationwide. Its employees manage public housing assets and assist populations entitled to housing aid.
