A senior Israeli government company official was detained for questioning over suspected resume forgery, fraud, and breach of trust following a referral from the Government Companies Authority.
A senior official at a government-owned company was detained for questioning this morning (Thursday) by the National Fraud Investigation Unit (YAHAK) in Lahav 433, on suspicion of fraud, breach of trust, forgery, use of a forged document, and submitting a false affidavit.
As part of the investigation, YAHAK police raided the official's home and office, conducted searches, and seized documents and digital media for investigative purposes. At the conclusion of the questioning, the suspect was released under restrictive conditions. At this stage, police have not disclosed the identity of the government company where he serves, nor have they detailed the specific acts attributed to him. The investigation by YAHAK is ongoing.
The investigation was opened following a referral from the Government Companies Authority. The official is suspected of falsifying his resume, including discrepancies regarding his past positions, the scope of his work history, and the sums of money he managed, which allegedly showed significant gaps from the truth. Lahav 433 initiated an inquiry and subsequently advanced to a full criminal investigation following findings that emerged from the initial review.
