Israelis Stranded Abroad Following Emirates Ban on Tel Aviv Flights
Numerous Israeli travelers are stranded abroad after Emirates barred passengers heading to Tel Aviv from boarding flights to Dubai, leaving families facing steep alternative costs and severe uncertainty.
Israelis Stranded Abroad Following Emirates Flight Ban
Many Israeli travelers found themselves stranded at various international destinations, including Dubai, following a dramatic decision by Emirates to bar passengers whose final destination is Tel Aviv from boarding its flights to Dubai.
We are supposed to return on a Saturday flight, and right now we have no flight back. There are not many alternatives, and what is available is very expensive, said Sigal Sidi, who is currently stranded in Thailand with her husband and two children.
Confusion and Uncertainty at Transit Hubs
Ksenia Grankin, who traveled to Dubai from Thailand with her husband and four-year-old daughter, described the chaotic situation upon landing. After stepping off the Emirates aircraft, passengers heading to Tel Aviv were directed to a specific desk where they were informed that their connection was canceled and provided with a hotel voucher.
We are trying to gather information from each other because there is a severe lack of official guidance, Grankin noted. Our luggage has not arrived either, and while we were told it would be brought to the hotel, we have been wearing the same clothes since yesterday.
Travelers Seek Alternatives Amid Flight Cancellations
Other affected passengers, such as Shiri currently visiting Japan with her family, are closely monitoring updates while exploring backup options. Meanwhile, Shira Ben-Bassat, stranded in Dubai with her husband and three children, noted that while the hotel stay is currently comfortable, the lack of clear communication from airlines remains a major source of frustration for families trying to return home for work and school.
