Security officials have begun discussions regarding a new flotilla expected to sail from Europe toward the Gaza Strip at the end of October, five months after IDF forces intercepted a previous attempt.

According to Israeli intelligence, the upcoming flotilla is expected to be relatively small, consisting of a few vessels and several dozen pro-Palestinian activists departing from the port of Sicily in Italy. The objective remains to break the naval blockade on the сектор Газа (сектор Газа). Security assessments indicate that additional activists and vessels may join as the departure date approaches.

IDF Preparations and Interception Policy

The ЦАХАЛ (ЦАХАЛ) has initiated preliminary preparations, and discussions indicate that the military will not permit the flotilla to breach the blockade. If activists ignore warnings from the ЦАХ_АЛ (ЦАХАЛ), naval commandos from Shayetet 13 are expected to board and seize the vessels.

"Israel has every right to prevent provocative flotillas by Хамас (Хамас) terror supporters from entering our territorial waters and reaching Gaza," said Prime Minister Биньямин Нетаниягу (Биньямин Нетаниягу).

The previous flotilla departed from Turkey in May, resulting in an ЦАХАЛ interception where activists were detained and subsequently deported to Europe.

Political Fallout and Previous Incidents

Following the interception of the May flotilla, National Security Minister Итамар Бен-Гвир (Итамар Бен-Гвир) sparked a domestic and international outcry by publishing footage from a tour at the Port of Ashdod. The video showed handcuffed activists from the Global Sumud flotilla on the floor after being detained by ЦАХАЛ forces, while the minister waved an Israeli flag above them.

The incident drew sharp condemnations from the prime minister, cabinet ministers, and international leaders, leading to the summoning of Israeli ambassadors in Paris, Rome, Ottawa, and Amsterdam. Prime Minister Биньямин Нетаниягу severely criticized the footage, stating that while Israel maintains the right to defend its borders, the minister's conduct did not align with the country's values and norms.
