The IDF and the Shin Bet announced the destruction of two Hamas weapons depots in the Shati and Deir al-Balah areas of the Gaza Strip. According to the statement, the depots contained dozens of Kalashnikov-style rifles, magazines, and other military equipment.

The weapons were stored inside two mosques, which, according to the IDF and the Shin Bet, were being used as shelters for Hamas terrorists.

The strikes were carried out following advance warnings issued to the local population to minimize the risk of civilian harm. The IDF stated that precision munitions and aerial surveillance were utilized.

According to the IDF and the Shin Bet, this incident serves as another example of Hamas's systematic use of civilian infrastructure, including mosques, to advance and execute terror plots against IDF forces operating in the 'yellow line' area and against Israeli citizens.

The IDF confirmed that forces under the Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to act to neutralize any immediate threat.
