A FlyDubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv squawked emergency codes 7700 and 7500, indicating a suspected hijacking, before landing safely in Saudi Arabia.
The aircraft landed at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Airport in Tabuk. Initial assessments suggest the incident stemmed from a cockpit altercation rather than a security threat.
Israeli Air Force jets were scrambled following the alert. The plane, carrying approximately 180 passengers including around 100 Israelis, experienced a temporary loss of communication during the flight.
Other FlyDubai flights en route to Amman and Tel Aviv altered their flight paths as authorities continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
