Asaf Rejwan, one of the Israeli passengers who helped neutralize an attacker aboard a Flydubai flight, recounted the dramatic moments in mid-air following the rescue plane's landing at Ben Gurion Airport.
"I wasn't hurt too badly. It was a shaking experience. It's just like in the movies; I didn't think something like this could happen in reality," Rejwan said. "We showed resourcefulness together. We decided it was to be or not to be, and I'm glad we went for it."
"The plane lost control at a 90-degree angle downwards. The pilot's door was open, we saw a lot of blood. We went in there—me, Zvika, and two other guys—and tried to overpower the terrorist," Rejwan stated.
Landing and Aftermath
Rejwan praised the flight crew for stabilizing the aircraft and noted the extreme hesitation passengers felt before boarding a replacement flight back to Israel.
"We were very scared to board another Flydubai flight after what we went through, and rightly so. We had to make a decision whether to board or not," he added.
