President Isaac Herzog visited the Judea and Samaria Division on Wednesday amid escalating security tensions in the West Bank. During his tour, the president met with the division commander, Brigadier General Kobi Heller, and received an operational briefing on IDF deployments and security challenges.
Condemning Nationalist Crime
President Herzog expressed strong backing for the security forces while delivering a sharp warning against rising nationalist violence in the region. He emphasized that lawlessness severely harms Israel's democratic foundations.
There is an unyielding war in the West Bank, and I thank the IDF, the police, the Shin Bet, and all security agencies for their immense efforts. Yet alongside these achievements, we witness severe phenomena of nationalist crime that strike at the core of our ability to function as a state of law.
Upholding the Rule of Law
Herzog stressed that no individual is permitted to take the law into their own hands, noting that such actions damage Israel's international reputation and undermine the settlement movement.
The president also addressed a recent severe aviation incident involving a flydubai flight, praising the heroic response and noting that authorities are closely coordinating with Emirati partners to investigate the matter thoroughly.
