Flydubai Hero Reveals Suspicious Crew Behavior During Hijacking Attempt
Israeli passenger Asaf Rejwan, who helped foil a terrorist attack on a Flydubai flight, revealed harrowing new details about the suspicious behavior of the flight crew.
More than a week after a Flydubai flight narrowly escaped disaster when an Omani terrorist attempted to crash the plane, passengers are speaking out about suspicious behavior among the crew. Asaf Rejwan, one of the Israeli passengers who helped foil the attack and save 174 lives, appeared on Uvda alongside his wife Lior to reveal harrowing new details.
Rejwan described the intense moments inside the cabin after he heard screams and rushed forward. He recounted how the flight attendants displayed strange and unsettling behavior throughout the incident. According to Rejwan, the crew members looked unusually large and muscular for typical flight attendants, constantly exchanged anxious glances, and spoke in hushed tones among themselves. Rejwan noted that the real battle felt as though it was not just with the attacker, but with the crew.
Rejwan also raised serious security questions regarding cockpit access. He stated that the flight attendants somehow possessed the code to the cockpit door, entering and exiting repeatedly during the crisis—a protocol violation that he has since reported to security officials. Furthermore, Rejwan described how one attendant attempted to administer an unknown pill to the incapacitated Indian pilot while he struggled to breathe, prompting sharp intervention from passengers.
Suspicious Crew Actions and Cabin Tensions
During the unfolding drama, the flight attendants repeatedly ordered passengers to fasten their seatbelts, a demand that caused outrage among those fearing for their lives. Rejwan recalled confronting one attendant who tried to discreetly loosen the zip-ties used to restrain the terrorist. "We were furious, we almost jumped on him, but to be honest, we were afraid of them. They felt like stone," Rejwan said.
Lior Rejwan, who sat anxiously with their two daughters during the ordeal, added that the crew completely lacked a calming presence. Rejwan also recounted a chilling moment when one of the attendants grabbed his hand, looked him in the eyes, and muttered that as long as the Indian pilot died, they would land safely.
Reflecting on the miraculous landing, Rejwan described shouting that they had won as the plane touched down, a triumphant gesture that quickly went viral online due to its striking resemblance to Donald Trump raising his fist after surviving an assassination attempt in 2024. Lior noted the immense psychological whiplash of transitioning from the certainty of death to sudden safety, noting that their family has faced extraordinary trials, including their home being damaged during missile fire from Iran.
