The IDF struck a Syrian operative near the Syria-Lebanon border in the al-Hermel area on Friday afternoon. Hours after reports of the strike in Houch al-Sayyed Ali in eastern Lebanon, the IDF confirmed the target was Youssef Ali Alhassan, who operated under Iranian direction.

According to the military, Alhassan "advanced terror plots against Israeli citizens and IDF forces operating in southern Syria, under the guidance of the Iranian terror regime." The IDF stated that Alhassan had pushed forward explosive drone launches and rocket attacks targeting forces in southern Syria over the past year.

The Lebanese Health Ministry reported that six people, including five Syrians, were wounded in the strike. Earlier, the Hezbollah-affiliated network Al-Mayadeen reported that the strike was carried out by an IDF UAV.

Meanwhile, a Lebanese security source told the Saudi channel Al-Hadath about a significant seizure of explosives in eastern Lebanon. According to the source, 500 kilograms of explosives were intercepted in a vehicle at a security checkpoint in the Dahr al-Baydar area of the Bekaa Valley, confiscated from two operatives belonging to "Hezbollah".
