Fly Dubai Terror Plot Details Emerge

New details have emerged regarding the background of Hammam al-Mamari, the co-pilot who attempted to carry out a terrorist attack on a Fly Dubai flight. A Moroccan airline and a British university have refuted the resume he posted online, raising serious questions about the recruitment process that allowed him into the cockpit.

Digital evidence links the investigation to a CNN report detailing the radicalization process of al-Mamari, an Omani citizen. On the day of the attack, al-Mamari posted a series of cockpit videos on his LinkedIn account, zooming in on El Al and Arkia passenger planes at Dubai International Airport.

International Praise for Heroic Pilot

Fly Dubai Captain Samit Mchehar has received international recognition after saving the lives of 174 passengers during the attack. While Emirati officials honored his courage from his hospital bed, he has become a national-religious symbol for the ruling party in India.

IDF Targets Hamas Leadership in Gaza

During the night between Friday and Saturday, the IDF struck an apartment in western Gaza City, according to Palestinian reports. The target of the nighttime strike was an assassination attempt against Ali al-Amoudi, who effectively serves as the head of the Hamas political bureau in the Gaza Strip.

"I am quite sure we could have, and should have, shortened the war and returned all the hostages perhaps a year earlier," stated Maj. Gen. (res.) Nitzan Alon.

Nitzan Alon on Hostage Timeline

Maj. Gen. (res.) Nitzan Alon, who served as head of the headquarters for hostages and missing persons, stated that the war could have been shortened and all hostages returned roughly a year earlier. Speaking at a virtual conference held by the Washington Institute for Near East Policy marking three years since the October 7 massacre, Alon noted that many hostages who were killed or murdered in Gaza could have returned to their families alive.

Meanwhile, three years after the October 7 massacre, released hostage Emily Damari shared harrowing testimonies and details regarding the medical treatment she received from Hamas terrorists and how she coped with her injuries in captivity.
