Three years since the October 7 massacre, freed hostage Emily Damari shared testimonies today (Saturday) about her captivity in the Gaza Strip. In a published post, Damari detailed the medical treatment she received from Hamas terrorists and how she coped with her injuries.

Damari recounted being held at Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip and described the conditions there. "I am inside a disgusting room full of blood, a corpse on the floor next to me. A doctor approaches and introduces himself as 'Doctor Hamas' while ten terrorists with weapons stand over my head," she described. She added that at those moments she prayed to survive the situation.

Later in her remarks, Damari addressed the injury she suffered during captivity. According to her, she spent four months with an open gunshot wound in her leg that continued to bleed. She also noted that stitches that were supposed to be removed after two weeks remained in her hand for a full year. Regarding the photos attached to the post, she clarified that her mere survival is nothing short of a miracle.

In addition, Damari detailed the people who stayed by her side during this period. She noted Gali Berman, who was kidnapped with her and described as her best friend who was with her during the most frightening moments of her life. She also personally thanked Romi Gonen for helping her cope with the situation in Gaza.

At the end of the post, Damari thanked her family, the security forces, and the Israeli public for the fight for her release. "Thank you to the precious people who did not stop fighting for us for a moment so that we could return to you to hug, tell, and rehabilitate," she concluded.
