Israeli Startup FIZE Medical Raises $20 Million in Series B Funding
Israeli medical startup FIZE Medical raised $20 million in a Series B round led by Asahi Kasei Medical and Rapha Capital, bringing total funding to $50 million to support global expansion and ICU kidney monitoring tech.

Israeli medical device startup FIZE Medical has raised $20 million in a Series B funding round led by Japanese medical technology giant Asahi Kasei Medical and Rapha Capital Management, which also led the previous round. This funding comes two years after the company secured $14 million, bringing its total raised capital to $50 million.
The investment coincides with FIZE Medical entering the Japanese market, where Asahi Kasei, a specialist in dialysis products, will also serve as its local distributor. FIZE has developed a continuous kidney monitoring and fluid management solution for critically ill patients in intensive care units (ICUs). Kidney function is a vital sign, and FIZE's system measures output continuously to provide real-time patient status updates.
Approximately 50% of ICU patients develop acute kidney injury (AKI) during hospitalization, carrying a mortality rate exceeding 20%. Early detection via the FIZE system significantly reduces morbidity and mortality rates. Several Israeli hospitals, including Soroka Medical Center and Rabin Medical Center (Beilinson), already use the system, with Sheba Medical Center expected to adopt it soon, totaling 60 ICU beds equipped in Israel.
The capital will also fund FIZE's upcoming entry into the US and European markets following regulatory approvals. Founded in 2019—with initial development starting in 2011 by Noam Levin—the company is led by CEO Dror Zarem and employs 40 people.
