Ethiopian Airlines Expands Network and Boosts Israel Operations
Ethiopian Airlines expands its African network, offering discounted flights from Ben Gurion Airport, generous baggage allowances, and increased frequencies for Israeli travelers.
Ethiopian Airlines is strengthening its position as Africa's leading carrier by launching a massive expansion of its destination network. The airline is introducing new routes to Durban in South Africa, Nacala in Mozambique, and Port Harcourt in Nigeria, alongside expanded operations to Mauritius.
Amid fierce market competition, Ethiopian Airlines is offering a significant 10% discount on base fares for connecting flights departing from Ben Gurion Airport (ET414/ET415). The package includes special perks for young travelers up to age 23 and a first date change free of charge.
The airline's winning card in the passenger race is a generous baggage policy across all fare classes. Passengers receive two 23 kg bags in economy and two 32 kg bags in business included in the ticket price without extra fees.
This move joins the airline's significant strengthening in the Israeli market. Ethiopian Airlines announced that for a full month, between September 6 and October 6, 2026, operations at Ben Gurion Airport are being reinforced with additional flights on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
