Israel Upgrades Gas Price Comparison Calculator to Cut Household Bills
The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure upgraded its LPG price comparison calculator, introducing a personal savings tool and guides to lower household gas expenses.
The Fuel and Gas Administration at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has announced a major upgrade to its liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) price comparison calculator, aiming to increase transparency and boost competition in the domestic gas market.
New Personal Savings Tool
As part of the upgrade, the ministry has launched a new feature called "My Personal Savings." This tool allows consumers to identify not only the cheapest gas supplier in their residential area, but also calculate their exact potential annual savings.
To use the feature, consumers simply need to review their latest gas bill and input their current supplier, bimonthly consumption in cubic meters, and the bimonthly payment amount. Once submitted, the calculator displays the average annual savings achievable by switching to the most affordable provider in the area.

Comprehensive Transition Guides
Additionally, the ministry added two detailed guides for switching gas providers: one tailored for private homeowners and another for shared residential buildings utilizing central gas systems. The guides provide step-by-step instructions and Q&A sections to facilitate seamless transitions.
Recent ministry findings highlighted significant price disparities between competing gas companies, which can accumulate to hundreds or even thousands of shekels annually for households that fail to compare rates.
