Dor from 'Married at First Sight' on his relationship: "I was a frustrated father"

In an interview with Eran Swisa, they reveal for the first time the journey they went through from the examination room to the delivery room.
The story took a surprising turn right after filming ended. After moving into Sophie's apartment in Givatayim, the couple learned of the pregnancy while Dor was serving in the reserves: "The day he entered the apartment is the day I got pregnant. We just didn't know it then." For Dor, after a long period of intensive military service and dealing with bereavement, the news about the arrival of baby Eitan was a turning point that brought great hope alongside existential fears.
However, a deepening gap began to form between them. Dor's desire to return to his roots in the north collided with Sophie's life in the center. The mental exhaustion accumulated over hundreds of days of reserve service led him to return home to the north to maintain his mental health, even at the cost of physical distance. They chose not to define the situation as a final breakup, but as a reorganization of their relationship for the sake of their family's future. As Dor shares:
"I always knew I would be his father and I always knew I would love Sophie... The question was how to do it right and how I could also take care of myself."
The tension peaked when Sophie learned of the crisis through media reports. "If I don't return to the north now, what kind of partner will I be? What kind of father will I be? I am a frustrated father, I am not a good father," he said while far from home. But the birth brought back peace and connection. The unexpected breaking of the water led to an emotional birth in the hospital, where Dor experienced a moment of rebirth and a re-examination of his fatherhood. Today, despite initial adjustment difficulties, the two are looking forward with gratitude.
