A heartwarming video of a loyal dog that successfully led police officers to its owner, who had been lying helpless on the floor for hours, has gone viral across social media over the past day.
The dramatic incident took place in Leawood, Kansas, USA, and began when a local police officer on patrol spotted a dog wandering alone in the middle of the street wearing a leash, but with no owner in sight. When the officer tried to figure out where the dog belonged, the animal began barking and led the officer half a block directly to its home.
Bodycam footage shows the dog guiding the officer right up to a house with an open garage. The officer stepped inside and discovered the homeowner lying on the floor, unable to get up. Police later confirmed that the man had been stranded on the floor for over three consecutive hours until his pet took matters into its own paws to summon help.
Emergency medical services arrived at the scene and transported the owner to a hospital for treatment. Police report that he is now recovering safely at home, thanks to the remarkable resourcefulness and extraordinary loyalty of his best friend.
