Tyler Duckworth, star and winner of the MTV reality show "The Challenge," has died at the age of 44. According to a statement from his mother posted on Facebook, Duckworth was found lifeless in the bathroom of his apartment.
Duckworth recently underwent a medical procedure, but at this stage, the cause of death remains unknown, and it is unclear if there is a connection between the procedure and his passing.
The star's death came shortly after he participated in a "The Challenge" event along with other stars of the show. The event took place at the end of July, just about two weeks ago.
One of the show's participants paid tribute to him following the news:
"You were full of life just two weeks ago. We never know how unpredictable life is. Rest in peace."
Another star of the show wrote:
"I am heartbroken. We shared something special together. I will always be grateful for those memories, you will be greatly missed by so many people."
Duckworth first rose to fame in 2006 when he participated in the reality show "The Real World: Key West." He later appeared in six additional seasons, including the "All Stars" series. In recent years, Duckworth moved from West Hollywood to North Dakota, where he worked as a middle school teacher.
