Israel's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Danny Danon, is set to warn the UN General Assembly that the Iranian regime has adopted terrorist tactics and poses a direct threat to global peace and security. Addressing a plenary debate on human rights in New York, Danon will present evidence regarding Tehran's aggressive regional policies and internal repression.

According to prepared remarks, Danon will accuse Tehran of clandestinely rebuilding its ballistic missile production program and attempting to dictate the future of the Middle East. The Israeli envoy will point out that Iran has channeled 200 million dollars to the Hezbollah terrorist organization and continues to disrupt international maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

The diplomatic confrontation comes during the annual UN human rights debate, where several delegations are expected to criticize Israel's military operations following the October 7 attacks. In response, Danon's address aims to shift the international focus toward Iran's regional destabilization and domestic violations, noting that the regime has recently carried out numerous arbitrary arrests and executions.

«The regime in Iran has adopted terrorist behavior and is preparing to continue and intensify this conduct,» Danon will state, warning that Tehran views terror as a core strategic objective.

Danon will emphasize that the international community must confront the Iranian threat comprehensively, addressing both its military expansionism and its systematic suppression of domestic dissent.
