Shikma Bressler's Partner Sues Channel 14 and Shimon Riklin for Defamation
The partner of protest leader Shikma Bressler has issued a legal warning to Channel 14 and anchor Shimon Riklin, demanding 50,000 shekels and an apology over defamatory claims linking him to sensitive security meetings.

Shikma Bressler's Partner Sues Channel 14 Over Security Claims
Shikma Bressler, a senior physicist at the Weizmann Institute and a prominent leader of the Kaplan protests, has frequently been targeted by political figures and media personalities. Recently, these attacks have increasingly involved her partner, a senior official serving within the Shin Bet security agency.
Legal Notice Issued to Shimon Riklin and Channel 14
On Thursday, Bressler's partner sent a formal warning letter prior to legal proceedings against anchor Shimon Riklin and Channel 14, represented by attorney Idan Segar. The letter stems from remarks made by Riklin during his broadcast, where he implicitly and directly linked Bressler's partner to a sensitive security meeting involving Shin Bet Director Ronen Bar.
During the broadcast, Riklin addressed viewers and suggested a connection between Bressler's partner and high-level security meetings. Following these statements, the partner is demanding 50,000 shekels in financial compensation alongside a public apology for defamation.
A History of Conspiracy Theories and Legal Action
This is not the first time Bressler's partner has been dragged into public conspiracy theories. In 2024, MK Tali Gotliv (Likud) spread a baseless claim alleging that intelligence agencies intercepted communications between Bressler's partner and Yahya Sinwar prior to the October 7 attacks—allegations strongly denied by security agencies and the Prime Minister's Office.
In response to those previous publications, Bressler's legal team demanded criminal investigations against Gotliv, while Bressler and her partner filed substantial defamation lawsuits totaling millions of shekels against multiple circulators of false statements.
