Biblical Bloc Party Submits Knesset List Containing Deceased Candidate

The submission of candidate lists for the upcoming Knesset elections provided an unusual moment at the Central Elections Committee on Tuesday. A representative of the "Biblical Bloc" party presented the party's list, which includes 4 candidates, but during the official procedure, it was reported that one of the names on the list is no longer alive.

The incident occurred during the presentation of the list before the committee, when the detail regarding the death of one of the candidates was noted as part of the procedure. This turned the party's list submission into one of the most exceptional events recorded during the current electoral cycle for the Knesset.

The "Biblical Bloc," established in 2018 by Denis (Avi) Lipkin, seeks to base political activity on cooperation between Jews and Christians. According to the party's principles, it is a framework that aims to connect the two groups around biblical values, while integrating both Jewish and Christian representatives into its political activity.

The party lists among its goals the preservation of the integrity of the Land of Israel, strengthening ties between Jews and Christians, combating terrorism, and improving Israeli public diplomacy worldwide. It also seeks to encourage investments in Israel and prepare for the absorption of immigrants in the future. Over the years, the party has attempted to run in Knesset elections, but has failed to come close to the electoral threshold.

Even in previous election results, its electoral strength remained limited: in the elections for the 24th Knesset, the party received 428 votes, and in the elections for the 25th Knesset, held in 2022, it received 411 votes. Now it has returned to the election process, but even before the campaign has reached the general public, the list submission at the Elections Committee has already provided an unusual event.
