A shocking case of teen violence and online humiliation in Beersheba has led to a civil lawsuit filed against the parents of a 13-year-old girl accused of orchestrating a brutal attack on a 15-year-old peer. The lawsuit, demanding 120,000 shekels in damages, highlights the growing crisis of youth violence and cyberbullying.

The Incident and Online Humiliation

The events unfolded in May when the 13-year-old, identified pseudonymously as Lital, reportedly sought revenge after discovering her boyfriend had kissed another girl. Lital lured the 15-year-old victim, Limor, to a meeting under false pretenses. According to the statement of claim filed at the Beersheba Magistrate's Court, Lital slapped Limor violently upon arrival.

As Limor attempted to flee, she was surrounded by Lital's friends. One of the accomplices grabbed her hair, slammed her to the ground, and hurled insults. Despite being bruised and crying, Limor tried to get away again, but Lital pursued her, knocked her down, and punched her repeatedly in the head while she lay helpless on the pavement. The attackers filmed the assault and subsequently distributed the footage across WhatsApp groups to maximize the humiliation.

Cover-Up Attempts and Legal Action

Screenshots obtained by the victim's family revealed that Lital attempted to destroy evidence after the attack. She messaged her peers in a WhatsApp group, writing: "Delete chats everyone in case the police come, the police said there is a group."

Lawyers Limor Amit-Panker and Oshrat Shpunt, representing Limor and her family, emphasized the severity of the case:

"It was hard for us to watch the videos and see the severe violence and humiliation directed at a girl who could be the daughter of any of us. The judicial system has a significant role here, not only in delivering justice in the individual case, but also in sending a sharp and clear public message: violence has a price, and those who resort to it will bear the consequences of their actions.

Relocation and Call for Parental Accountability

The victim's father shared the profound trauma his family has endured, noting that they were forced to move to a new neighborhood and pull Limor out of her environment. "My daughter is undergoing therapy. After the attack, she wouldn't leave the house and was terrified," he said. He criticized the lack of parental supervision, adding that the ongoing psychological damage far exceeds the physical blows.

The plaintiffs argue that a firm and uncompromising stance against violent youth is an absolute necessity to prevent a dangerous slippery slope. The defendants' family declined to comment on the allegations.
