Man Killed, Woman Injured in Severe Three-Vehicle Crash Near Rekhasim
A man in his 30s was killed and a woman moderately injured in a severe three-vehicle crash on Route 762 near Rekhasim on Sunday evening.
A man in his 30s was killed and a woman in her 40s was moderately injured on Sunday evening in a severe three-vehicle collision on Route 762 near Rekhasim.
MDA emergency medics and paramedics arriving at the scene pronounced the man dead after finding him without vital signs. The injured woman suffered abdominal and lower limb trauma and was evacuated to Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa.
Fire and Rescue services from the Krayot station responded to the complex crash. According to rescue officials, one vehicle sustained minor damage, a second suffered heavy impact, and a third vehicle was split in half, with one portion plunging into a four-meter-deep ditch.
Firefighters used specialized extraction equipment and set up field lighting to access the ditch. They rescued the moderately injured woman and handed her over to MDA teams. Two other individuals involved in the accident sustained minor injuries and were also evacuated. The fatality was located inside the section of the vehicle that tumbled into the ditch.
Israel Police traffic investigators from the Asher district opened an inquiry into the circumstances of the crash, gathering evidence at the scene alongside officers from the Kiryat Ata station.
MDA emergency medical technician Avi Boyar recalled: "This was a very severe traffic accident involving a collision between vehicles. A woman in her 40s was trapped inside one car in moderate condition with abdominal and lower limb injuries. In the other vehicle, a man in his 30s suffered very severe trauma. We performed medical checks, but he showed no signs of life, and unfortunately, we had to pronounce him dead at the scene."
