Father and Son Arrested for Stealing 16 Beehives in Israel's North
A father and son from Musheirfa were arrested for allegedly stealing 16 beehives from Ein Harod and Hagla, which were later recovered in the Megiddo Forest.
A father and son, aged 66 and 36, were arrested recently on suspicion of involvement in the theft of 16 beehives from the communities of Ein Harod and Hagla. The hives were located in the Megiddo Forest area as part of a covert investigation conducted over the past few weeks.
The investigation was launched following reports of stolen beehives from the settlements, during which evidence was gathered against the suspects, partly using technological means. Subsequently, 16 suspected stolen hives were located in the Megiddo Forest, some of which were identified and verified as having been stolen from Ein Harod and Hagla.
As the investigation progressed, police detectives, along with additional forces and in cooperation with the Honey Board and the Ministry of Agriculture's Pitzuach unit, raided the suspects' homes in the village of Musheirfa in Wadi Ara.
During the operation, the father and son were arrested and transferred for questioning on suspicion of involvement in the theft of the beehives. The 16 recovered beehives were handed over to the Honey Board.
