Following a serious incident on Sunday in western Binyamin, where Palestinian Authority police officers operated in Area C—a zone where they are prohibited from acting—used force against an Israeli reservist on the Beitunia bypass road, and seized his military weapon, MK Zvi Sukkot visited the site today. He demanded that the officers involved be located and arrested, and called for the opening of a safe, secured route between the Dolev-Talmonim bloc and Highway 443.

During the incident, Palestinian Authority police officers stopped an Israeli reservist traveling toward the Dolev-Talmonim bloc and confiscated his military weapon. The soldier was not injured.

Following the event, MK Zvi Sukkot, Chairman of the Education Committee, arrived at the location where the reservist had been blocked and demanded that the IDF and the security establishment bring the involved Palestinian officers to justice.

MK Sukkot, Chairman of the Subcommittee for Judea and Samaria Affairs, stated:

"This is an extremely serious incident. We are in the heart of Area C, where Israelis are legally permitted to travel. Beyond the issue of illegal Palestinian construction that continues undisturbed, it is completely unacceptable for terrorists from the Palestinian police to set up checkpoints, behave violently, and kidnap a Jew. It is a disgrace."

"What increases the shame of this incident is the delusional response from the Civil Administration spokesperson, claiming they supposedly 'rescued' a Jew from the area."

"I demand that the IDF immediately arrest these terrorists from the Palestinian Authority. They must be punished for the violence used against an IDF reservist. We must ensure permanent security for Jews traveling legally in this area to prevent any PA terrorist from harming them."
