After days of calm: Hamas commander eliminated in Deir al-Balah
Following several days without targeted strikes in the Gaza Strip, the IDF eliminated Sharif al-Hasanat, a Hamas company commander involved in restoring underground infrastructure and planning terror attacks. Two additional incidents were recorded near the 'yellow line' over the past 24 hours.
After several days in which the IDF and the Shin Bet did not carry out targeted killings in the Gaza Strip, the IDF confirmed this evening that it had eliminated a company commander who promoted terror plots and took part in attempts to restore the underground infrastructure of the Hamas organization in Gaza.
The IDF struck earlier today (Saturday) in the Deir al-Balah area and eliminated the terrorist Sharif al-Hasanat, a company commander in the Deir al-Balah battalion of the Hamas military wing.
According to the IDF, throughout the war the terrorist took part in leading attempts to restore the underground infrastructure of the Hamas terror organization. In recent times, the terrorist continued to try to promote terror plots against IDF forces and citizens of the State of Israel.
The IDF states that the terrorist posed an immediate threat to our forces and was eliminated.
Yesterday, several incidents occurred in the Gaza Strip. Forces of the 99th Division, operating in the central Gaza Strip, identified a terrorist from the Hamas organization armed with a knife approaching the 'yellow line' with the intention of crossing it.
The forces tracked the terrorist, and after he crossed the 'yellow line', he was taken for questioning within Israeli territory.
Hours earlier, yesterday, Givati Brigade soldiers eliminated a terrorist who was about to carry out an attack on the forces. According to the IDF, Givati Brigade forces operating in the southern Gaza Strip identified a terrorist who crossed the 'yellow line' and approached the forces in a manner that posed an immediate threat to them.
The forces fired at the terrorist and neutralized him to remove the threat.
