After 921 days: Haimnot's parents are devastated following the President's broken promise
As the third school year begins without her, the parents of the 12-year-old girl reveal the painful truth behind their meeting with the President and accuse the authorities of failing to implement the dramatic promises made to them.
With the start of the school year, in which Haimnot Kasau was supposed to study but has been absent for the third consecutive year, her parents stood in a painful gesture surrounded by red balloons, crying out about their helplessness. Despite statements made last week following the family's meeting with the President of the State, Isaac Herzog, suggesting that the Shin Bet is ready to intervene in the search for the 12-year-old girl, her parents claim that nothing has changed on the ground and the promises given to them were not implemented at all.
The mother of the family cried out in tears to those present:
"Haimnot also wants to go to school. For two and a half years, what does she eat, what does she drink, where does she sleep? Go tell the Shin Bet, why for two and a half years has the Shin Bet not wanted to get involved in Haimnot's case? Pray, publicize so that Haimnot returns, so that the Shin Bet will finally try to get involved."
The family notes that reports claiming the Shin Bet is involved are untrue; they were merely empty promises.
Haimnot's father also turned to the public in pain, detailing his deep disappointment:
"Last week we met with the President of the State. What they told us was not true; the Shin Bet did not get involved in Haimnot's case as they promised us. We have no choice, the Shin Bet must be brought into the story; they have many technological means to locate and find her. Help us with prayer and publicity, we have no choice."
The family calls on the public to continue to fight and apply pressure to advance the investigation.
