Apple Announces Pro and Tell Event Featuring Touchscreen OLED MacBooks
Apple announced an October 28 event titled Pro and Tell, introducing touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro models, M6 entry-level devices, and a water-resistant OLED iPad mini 8.

Apple is breaking hardware release records by officially announcing another global product event scheduled for October 28 under the title "Pro and Tell". Taking place in Los Angeles alongside press releases worldwide, this marks the most intense month of launches in company history under new CEO John Ternus, introducing major changes to the Mac lineup.
First-Ever Touchscreen and OLED Panel on Mac
The highlight of the event will be the launch of new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models featuring two historic precedents. For the first time, the laptops will be equipped with touchscreens operating alongside the traditional keyboard and trackpad, adapted for macOS finger gestures. Additionally, Apple is abandoning Mini-LED in favor of a full OLED panel, offering deep contrast, superior color accuracy, and improved power efficiency.
To support direct screen touches without wobbling, Apple reinforced the hinge mechanism with rigid steel components and redesigned internal parts to reduce overall weight. Another visual change is the replacement of the camera notch with the Dynamic Island known from iPhones. Processing-wise, Apple is expected to continue using M5 Pro and M5 Max chips.
M6 Processors and Water-Resistant iPad Mini
Alongside premium models, Apple will refresh entry-level devices. The basic 14-inch MacBook Pro and 24-inch iMac will receive the new M6 processor. Furthermore, Apple will unveil the iPad mini 8, adopting an 8.4-inch OLED screen powered by the 2nm A20 Pro chip, featuring an acoustic vibration speaker system providing official water and dust resistance.
"The new iPad mini introduces innovative acoustic speakers that eliminate traditional speaker grills, achieving official water resistance for the first time in the series."
Price increases are expected across these new OLED and touch-enabled devices due to advanced engineering.
