Indictment Filed in Jerusalem Over Violent Abu Ghosh Parking Dispute
An indictment was filed in Jerusalem against a 60-year-old resident of Abu Ghosh for assault, threats, and weapon carriage following a violent parking dispute.

An indictment was filed in the Jerusalem District Court against 60-year-old Ali Elian from Abu Ghosh, charging him with assault, threats, and weapon carriage following a violent parking dispute in the village.
Incident Details
According to the indictment filed by the Jerusalem District Attorney's office, the incident occurred on October 8, 2026, around 13:30. The complainant parked his vehicle near the "Mozel BaKfar" grocery store on Derech HaShalom Street in Abu Ghosh and entered to shop, leaving his wife and three-year-old son inside the car.
Shortly thereafter, Elian arrived and noticed the complainant's vehicle was blocking his parking entrance. When the complainant returned, a verbal altercation broke out, quickly escalating into physical violence, mutual curses, and death threats.
Escalation and Weapon Grabbing
Bystanders attempted to intervene. One bystander, legally carrying a Glock pistol, tried to calm the situation and escorted the complainant back into his vehicle. However, the complainant stepped out again.
Taking advantage of the armed bystander's back being turned, Elian snatched the pistol from the holster, chambered a round, and pointed it at the complainant while shouting threats.
"Who are you planning to murder?"
The bystander quickly reacted, wresting the weapon away. Undeterred, Elian went to his Hyundai's trunk, retrieved a hammer, and advanced toward the complainant, who managed to flee in his car.
Aftermath and Investigation
During the interrogation, Elian denied using violence or snatching the weapon, claiming the hammer was merely to "fix the gate."
